Face architecture

The analysis runs on four measurements: forehead width, cheekbones width, jawline width, and face length. Their ratio points to one of 7 base shapes.

What we analyze

AI measures several key proportions: face length relative to width, forehead, cheekbone and jaw width, chin shape, jawline angle. These values are compared with reference geometries of seven types.

Precise proportions

We measure forehead, cheekbones, jawline width and face length. Each parameter is scored on a 1-10 scale.

AI algorithms

Ratios are compared against 7 reference geometric types using strict rules, not gut feeling.

Result confidence

We show match percentage and transitional shapes. A face is rarely strictly one of 7, and that is fine.

One type usually dominates in your face shape, others appear to a lesser extent. We return the primary type and a secondary one so recommendations are more accurate. Confidence 70-90% means a clean type; below 70% indicates a transitional shape.

All seven face shapes

Seven base geometries the AI maps a face to. Each shape has its own strengths and its own style.

Oval

Length 1.5× the width, soft jaw, forehead slightly wider than chin.

Most versatile shape, almost all hairstyles and accessories suit it.

Round

Length equals width, soft round lines, cheekbones are the widest part.

Suits hairstyles with volume on top and length below the chin, elongating glasses.

Square

Forehead, cheekbones, and jaw of equal width, prominent jaw angle.

Soften with rounded hairstyles, drop earrings, glasses with round or oval lenses.

Rectangle

Length greater than width (1.6× and more), vertical lines dominate.

Suits hairstyles with side width, bangs, large frame glasses.

Heart

Wide forehead, narrow chin, prominent cheekbones.

Balance with volume at the chin, drop earrings widening downward.

Triangle

Jaw wider than forehead, medium cheekbones, prominent chin.

Volume on top balances the shape: short cuts or hair above the shoulders.

Diamond

Cheekbones are the widest part, narrow forehead and chin.

Suits hairstyles with volume at the forehead and chin, short bangs, angular frames.

FAQ

How accurate is the result?

Around 80-90% for a clear front-facing photo with good lighting. On half-profile photos, accuracy drops to 60-70%. For clean type faces AI gives high confidence; for mixed shapes it returns primary and secondary types.

What photo works best?

Front-facing, looking directly at the camera, neutral expression, hair pulled back or forehead and chin visible, no glasses or heavy makeup, even lighting (window light, not flash).

What happens to my photo?

The photo lives in server memory for 5-10 seconds: sent to AI service for analysis, deleted after the response. Never written to disk. If you click Save to account, we only keep the text result and a 256-pixel preview.

What if my face is between two types?

That is normal, clean types are rare. AI returns primary and secondary types, plus confidence from 0 to 100%. Confidence below 70% means transitional shape, and recommendations from both types will suit you.

Does this work for men?

Yes, 7 face shape types apply to any gender and age. Only specific recommendations differ (men's hairstyles, beard, frames). AI accounts for this in the response.

Can I use a photo with glasses?

Not ideal. Glasses hide the eyes and part of the forehead, AI has difficulty determining proportions. If you cannot remove them, try anyway, but accuracy will be lower.

Why does the result differ from another tool?

Different tools use different AI models and reference shapes. Our AI is optimized for the classic seven-type system; some services use 8-10 types or fashion classification by Kibbe (that is a separate tool).

Is this free?

Yes, always free. No registration, no subscription, no view limits. Anonymous users can do up to 5 analyses per hour; signed-in users up to 30 per hour.
