Enneagram Wings: How Your Secondary Type Shapes Your Personality

Your core type is the backbone. Wings - the two adjacent numbers on the Enneagram circle - add shades that make each person unique. A Two with a One wing and a Two with a Three wing are two completely different characters, even though the core motivation is the same.

A wing is the type standing next to yours on the diagram. Each type has only two possible wings. Type 3 can be 3w2 (with a Two wing) or 3w4 (with a Four wing), but never 3w8. One wing usually dominates, though both are present.

Your basic Enneagram type doesn't change throughout life. But the balance between wings can shift depending on life circumstances.
Can't determine your dominant wing? Our test automatically calculates the percentage ratio of both wings.
